There is a backport (i.e., 0.13.0-4~bpo12+1) of `ruby-mdl` to bookworm. This upload of an update only addresses the increment of the Debian Policy. Compared to the earlier 0.13.0-4, the functionality of the syntax checker was not edited -- neither by myself, nor that there is a new upstream version available on RubyGems.[1] This is why I would presume there is no benefit to prepare a new 0.13.0-5~bpo12+1 for an additional, deferred upload. Dear sponsoring DD, does your experience suggest «it is better to keep the packages in testing and the optional bpo to stable in sync»? [1] https://rubygems.org/gems/mdl

Regarding the warning by `lintian` and the Debian Policy check: at best of my current knowlegde,[1] there is no newer version of the checker than 2.117.0 published by 2024-02-13 to bookworm/testing. [1] https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/lintian
