A nice proposal to type more efficiently.  Though I can't sponsor your work, don't forget to toggle in d/changelog the most recent `UNRELEASED` (all caps) to `unstable` (lower case only).

With a brief glance over speed-type's landing page (https://github.com/dakra/speed-type) I see the cross-link to uniline (https://github.com/tbanel/uniline#compatibility-with-org-mode) -- which could be an awesome additional package if you share the interest and have the time.
