§12 Command-line usage

This section describes the command-line options. With no options (or with a map file), Trizbort-qt opens the editor; the options below control start-up or run one job without opening a window.

Start-up options

Batch modes

Each of these runs one job and exits without opening a window:

Option Effect
--save load and re-save the map to a new file
--quicksave (-q) re-save the map in place
--smartsave (-s) re-save, plus a PDF and/or image per the Smart Save preferences
--render render the map to an image
--pdf render the map to a PDF
--stats print the map statistics report (see §9 (Map statistics))
--import-transcript build a map from a play-session transcript

Exporting from the command line

Six options each export the map as source code (see §10 (Exporting)): --zil, --inform7, --inform6, --alan, --quest, and --questrooms. When the output name given to --inform7 ends in .inform, the source is written as Source/Story.ni inside that project folder.
