This section describes how to open, save, and back up maps, and
the .trizbort file format, using the
File menu.
New (Ctrl+N)
starts an empty map, Open... (Ctrl+O) opens one from a file, and Open from URL... (Ctrl+Shift+O) opens one from a web address.
Save (Ctrl+S) and
Save As... write the map back to disk.
Recent Maps lists maps opened recently. A
download started with Open from URL... can
be canceled from its progress dialog and gives up on its own after
30 seconds without a response.
Maps are stored in the .trizbort
format, the format used by the original Trizbort. Files written by
older versions open normally: missing or duplicate element numbers
are reassigned, rooms with no region are placed in the default
region, and a saved map is always stamped with the current format
version so that it opens with the current color rules in the
original Trizbort too.
Backup (Ctrl+B)
writes a backup copy of the map. Smart Save
(Ctrl+Alt+S) saves the map and also writes
a PDF and/or image alongside it, according to the Smart Save
preferences in §6 (Map properties and
settings).
