  1. This is a major change since the last released package, mainly because I've replaced the autotools build system with a bespoke build system called maitch. It is designed to have a simpler infrastructure (adds only 2 files to the source tree), support a cleaner syntax for build scripts (python), eliminate the bootstrap stage and make configure much quicker. The package still includes the files necessary for using autotools in case of unforeseen problems with maitch, but I hope maitch will prove to be suitable for the job so that I can safely remove the redundant files in a near future release.
